Re: Pls Help. Sensitive skin on face.

dauguste wrote:Hi There,

I have two young boys who have very sensitive skin. For the last five years I have been using Shea Butter based products, which I have found reduces the sensitivity and provides deep long lasting moisture to the skin.

Deborah

Another vote for shea butter based products.

Vitamin E & Wheatgerm are not preservatives. Vitamin E is an antioxidant.

Re: soap and water??

Hi Tinkerbell, by all means, carry on, if your skin is happy? I always say, if your skin is happy, do not change your routine. But, for me, I find that soap V decyl glucoside based facial washes, the latter win for me. Soap, somehow, seems to strip my facial natural oil (sebum) so it tends to pr...

Re: Question about Soap Manufacturing

Angie has given a good description on which "salts" to use in soapmaking. Potassium hydroxide (KOH) is much softer than Sodium hydroxide (NaOH). NaOH is normally used in making bars of soap whilst KOH is normally used in making liquid soap. However, I have combined these two in the past...

Re: Beeswax and beauty

I do find it so funny, regarding Lush... they use all the top nasty synthetics... so I'd recommend bringing in an ingredients dictionary if you plan on shopping with Lush... keep an eagle eye out for the fragrance products - are they from essential oils or synthetic chemical based aromas? Well, I ...

Re: Beeswax and beauty

I've always been a bit confused about how ethical and natural bees wax is - especially as there are so many products on the market classing themselves as natural. Certainly vegan friends amongst the group tend to worry - but as a veggie myself I never thought it could be that bad... I personally ...

Re: Soap Pods

Hi Akua Wood, Can i ask you a couple of questions? Do they smell that bad (I do love the smell of ylang ylang), how many washes do you get from them and do the ‘soapup’ the water, I am just wondering if you get the same effect form just washing your cloths in water without any cleaner? As my clot...
